Discontinuation of Victron Energy Color Control GX
Victron Energy has officially announced the immediate discontinuation of the Color Control GX (CCGX) device , its first device in the GX range, widely used for monitoring and managing photovoltaic systems.
Why does it stop?
According to Victron, the CCGX was an excellent first-generation GX device and marked the beginning of a key product line for the brand. However, it has become outdated compared to more modern options. In the manufacturer's words:
“It has served its purpose, but we have seen several cases of disappointed end users who purchased it through retail channels expecting an updated and future-proof product, when in reality they should have opted for a Cerbo GX or an Ekrano GX. For this reason, it has been decided to immediately remove it from the catalog.”
Recommended alternatives
Victron recommends the following devices as direct replacements:
- Cerbo GX : the natural successor, more powerful, modular, and with better connectivity. Compatible with the GX Touch touchscreen.
- Ekrano GX : advanced option with integrated display, ideal for demanding, professional or industrial installations.
Both devices are future-proof and benefit from constant firmware and performance improvements.
Is there stock available?
Although discontinuation is immediate, there is still a limited stock of CCGX available for customers with OEM projects or specific needs.
If you need Color Control GX for a specific replacement or installation, contact your sales manager or our team as soon as possible , as available units will soon run out.
Effective date
The withdrawal is effective immediately , according to an official statement from Victron Energy. Technical support will continue for a period of time, but there will be no further production or general distribution of the product.
